Come Awake Catholic Credentialing Program
Bringing together lived experience, specialized education, and Catholic pastoral formation to transform the Church's response to betrayal.
The Catholic Church needs more people who understand the devastating impact of sexual betrayal—and who are prepared to respond with compassion, competence, and clarity.
Too often, betrayed partners and their families struggle to find support that understands both the realities of betrayal trauma and the importance of their Catholic faith.
Come Awake is working to change that.
The Come Awake Catholic Credentialing Program prepares facilitators, coaches, and pastoral professionals to provide informed, ethical, and compassionate support to individuals and families affected by sexual addiction and betrayal.
But this program offers something more than professional education.
As you learn to accompany others, you'll also have opportunities to continue your own healing, deepen your self-understanding, and grow personally and spiritually.
Through progressive education, participation in Guided Recovery Communities, practical experience, and ongoing professional support, you can develop a meaningful ministry while continuing to invest in your own well-being and growth.
Whether you're a betrayed partner who has experienced significant healing, a Catholic ministry leader, a coach, or an established helping professional, Come Awake offers a place to begin—and a pathway to continue growing.

Let Your Own Healing Become a Source of Hope
Continue Your Own Healing as You Learn to Accompany Others
For many betrayed partners, the desire to help others grows naturally out of their own healing.
You understand what it means to search for answers, struggle to find appropriate support, and navigate the complicated intersection of sexual betrayal, family life, and Catholic faith.
That experience matters.
But your own healing journey doesn't have to be finished before you begin learning how to help others.
One of the unique opportunities within the Come Awake Catholic Credentialing Program is that you're not simply studying how to accompany someone else.
You're continuing to grow and heal yourself.
As you participate in Guided Recovery Communities, engage with the Accompaniment Workshops, and deepen your understanding of betrayal trauma, you'll have opportunities to revisit your own experiences with new insight and understanding.
You may recognize patterns you hadn't previously understood, discover areas of your life that need additional attention, strengthen your boundaries, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.
You'll also have opportunities to grow in your Catholic faith, explore how your experiences have shaped you, and consider how God may be inviting you into greater healing and freedom.
This personal growth becomes part of your preparation to accompany others.
You'll learn to distinguish your own experiences from those of the people you serve, recognize when something touches an area of your own unfinished healing, and develop the self-awareness necessary to maintain healthy professional boundaries.
Your personal healing and your professional development can grow together.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
You don't have to have reached some imaginary finish line in your recovery.
You simply need a willingness to keep learning, growing, and doing your own work.
And as you do, the wisdom you're gaining through your own healing can become a meaningful source of hope for others.
Build a Ministry That Helps Provide for Your Family
Meaningful Ministry and Financial Sustainability Can Go Together
Many people feel called to serve others but wonder how they can make that calling sustainable alongside the responsibilities of family life.
Perhaps you're raising children, balancing other commitments, or looking for meaningful work that offers flexibility.
Come Awake creates opportunities to develop a ministry that reflects your values while contributing to your family's financial well-being.
You don't have to create an entire curriculum, training system, or professional support network from scratch.
Through foundational education and initial authorization, you can prepare to facilitate approved Guided Recovery Communities using established resources and ongoing professional support.
As you gain experience and pursue additional credentials, your opportunities may expand into individual coaching, specialized workshops, professional education, and other services appropriate to your qualifications.
Your desire to serve others doesn't have to come at the expense of your family's needs.
Come Awake offers a pathway for developing a ministry that can grow alongside your life and responsibilities.
Provide Truly Informed, Ethical, and Compassionate Care
Betrayed Partners Deserve More Than Good Intentions
They deserve support that recognizes the impact of betrayal trauma, understands the complexities of sexual addiction, and respects their dignity, safety, and freedom.
Unfortunately, even well-meaning helpers can cause additional harm when they lack appropriate education or misunderstand the dynamics of betrayal.
Come Awake is committed to raising the standard of care available to betrayed partners.
Our program brings together several essential elements of responsible accompaniment.
Evidence-Informed Education
Develop a deeper understanding of betrayal trauma, sexual addiction, recovery, and the complex experiences of individuals and families affected by sexual betrayal.
Trauma-Informed Support
Learn the importance of safety, stabilization, personal autonomy, and avoiding approaches that increase distress or reinforce harmful relationship dynamics.
Practical Training and Experience
Participate in Guided Recovery Communities, complete facilitator training, and develop your skills through practical experience and ongoing professional consultation.
Ethical Boundaries and Accountability
Learn to recognize the limits of your role, maintain appropriate boundaries, protect confidentiality, and make referrals when a person's needs exceed your qualifications.
Catholic Pastoral Formation
Explore how compassionate, informed care can remain grounded in Catholic teaching while respecting the dignity, safety, and individual circumstances of those seeking help.
Ongoing Professional Development
Continue developing your knowledge and skills through consultation, collaboration, and additional educational opportunities.
Because the quality of our care matters just as much as the sincerity of our desire to help.
Come Awake provides pastoral education, professional development, and privately issued credentials. These do not constitute clinical licensure or independently authorize psychotherapy or other regulated professional services.
Help Transform the Church's Response to Betrayal
Too many betrayed partners have sought help within Catholic communities only to encounter misunderstanding, minimization, inappropriate advice, or pressure to reconcile before safety and healing have been established.
We believe the Church can respond differently.
Imagine Catholic communities where betrayed partners are understood rather than questioned.
Where priests, parish leaders, facilitators, coaches, and helping professionals recognize the impact of sexual betrayal and respond appropriately.
Where people receive support that respects both their Catholic faith and the realities of trauma.
Where professionals collaborate rather than working in isolation.
Where betrayed partners and their families have access to meaningful resources, informed guidance, and compassionate accompaniment.
This is the vision behind Come Awake.
We want to equip more people to serve betrayed partners well.
We want to create opportunities for collaboration among Catholic ministries and helping professionals.
We want to give greater visibility to the lived experiences of betrayed partners.
And we want to help ensure that those seeking support within the Church encounter care that is knowledgeable, ethical, compassionate, and genuinely helpful.
We aren't simply preparing people to lead groups. We're working to transform the Church's response to betrayal.
One Program. Five Progressive Credentials.
A Pathway That Grows With You
You don't have to know exactly where your ministry will lead before you begin.
And you don't have to commit to becoming an advanced professional to get started.
Your first step is learning to lead a group.
The Come Awake Group Facilitator Training Program prepares you to facilitate approved Guided Recovery Communities through specialized education, practical training, and ongoing support.
As you complete your foundational preparation, you'll also participate in the recovery communities yourself—giving you opportunities to continue your own healing while experiencing the group process from a participant's perspective.
After completing foundational requirements and receiving written authorization, you can begin leading approved groups while working toward your first credential.
From there, you can decide whether you'd like to pursue additional education and professional opportunities.
The Come Awake Catholic Credentialing Program offers five progressive credentials.
Level 1: Pastoral Partner Betrayal Facilitator (PPBF)
Learn to Lead Guided Recovery Communities
Begin by developing the skills needed to facilitate meaningful, ethically grounded group experiences for betrayed partners.
Your foundational preparation includes:
Twelve Come Awake Accompaniment Workshops.
Participation in three complete Guided Recovery Communities.
Six hours of facilitator training.
Preparation for initial authorization to facilitate approved groups.
An individual competency assessment.
Participation in the Guided Recovery Communities is an important part of your preparation. You'll experience the educational material, guided reflection, and supportive group environment firsthand while continuing to explore your own healing and growth.
After completing the foundational educational requirements and receiving written authorization, you may begin facilitating approved groups.
To earn the PPBF credential, you'll successfully facilitate three complete approved Guided Recovery Communities, complete your individual competency assessment, and meet the program's ongoing requirements.
This is your opportunity to begin serving others through group facilitation without committing to the entire advanced credentialing pathway.
Level 2: Pastoral Partner Betrayal Coach (PPBC)
Expand Into Individual Accompaniment
Continue developing your knowledge and skills through additional education and experience appropriate to individual pastoral betrayal coaching.
This level provides a pathway toward offering more individualized support within your professional scope.
Level 3: Pastoral Partner Betrayal Professional (PPBP)
Deepen Your Specialized Knowledge
Build upon your foundational education with additional professional development in betrayal trauma and related areas.
Expand your capacity to serve through specialized support, education, and other approved professional opportunities.
Level 4: Catholic Pastoral Partner Betrayal Professional (CPPBP)
Integrate Advanced Catholic Pastoral Formation

Level 5: Catholic Pastoral Partner Betrayal and Sexual Addiction Professional (CPPBSAP)
Pursue Advanced Specialization
Continue developing expertise through additional education and experience addressing the complexities of sexual addiction, betrayal trauma, and Catholic pastoral accompaniment.
This advanced pathway supports broader opportunities for professional education, collaboration, and specialized ministry.
Each credential builds upon the previous level.
You can begin with group facilitation and consider additional credentials as your interests, experience, and circumstances develop.
Additional education, experience, assessments, and fees apply to advanced credentials. Completion of foundational education does not automatically confer advanced credentials.

The Practical Benefits of Becoming a Come Awake Facilitator
Begin With One Group. Make a Meaningful Difference.
The Come Awake Catholic Credentialing Program offers opportunities to serve others in practical ways while developing a ministry that fits your life.
You don't have to begin by launching a large ministry or pursuing advanced credentials.
You can start by learning to lead one group.
Through facilitator training, you'll learn how to guide conversations, establish safe and ethical boundaries, recognize when additional support is needed, and create an environment where betrayed partners can learn and connect.
Come Awake provides established resources, practical training, and professional support so you don't have to figure everything out on your own.
Create Meaningful Support in Your Local Community
Imagine six women in your parish or community who are struggling with sexual betrayal.
Some may have never spoken openly about their experiences. Others may have searched for support but encountered misunderstanding or judgment.
Now imagine those women finding a place where they are heard and understood.
A place to learn about betrayal trauma, develop healthier boundaries, gain clarity, and begin rebuilding their lives.
A place where they can connect with others who understand what they're experiencing.
One group can become an important source of support for an entire community.
The benefits can extend beyond the women who attend.
As participants receive support, they may become better equipped to navigate family relationships, care for their children, and connect with appropriate community resources.
Local groups can also help create connections among Catholic parishes, ministries, and helping professionals.
Over time, these relationships can strengthen the network of care available to betrayed partners and their families.
You don't have to reach hundreds of people to contribute to meaningful change. You can begin with six.
Help Provide for Your Family Through Meaningful Ministry
Facilitating Guided Recovery Communities offers an opportunity to contribute to your family's financial well-being while doing work that reflects your values.
Consider a group with six participants, each paying an illustrative enrollment fee of $399.
| One Guided Recovery Community | Revenue |
|---|---|
| Six participants | $2,394 |
| Less Come Awake group facilitation fee | −$150 |
| Remaining revenue before other expenses | $2,244 |
A single successfully enrolled group could generate $2,244 before taxes, consultation fees, and other operating expenses.
That income could contribute toward groceries, household expenses, children's activities, savings, or other family needs.
And as your experience grows, you may choose to facilitate additional groups or pursue other professional opportunities.
This example illustrates potential revenue, not guaranteed income or profit. Actual results depend on enrollment, pricing, expenses, and individual circumstances.
Develop a Ministry That Fits Your Season of Life
Not everyone is called to build a large ministry.
You might facilitate one group each year.
You might offer groups during several 16-week seasons.
Or you might eventually pursue additional education and expand into coaching, workshops, or other professional opportunities.
You can begin with group facilitation and allow your ministry to grow alongside your family, experience, and calling.
Become Part of a Growing Network of Catholic Support
Every new facilitator has the potential to extend the reach of compassionate, informed care.
As more facilitators begin offering groups, more betrayed partners may gain access to meaningful support.
As more professionals pursue advanced education, Catholic communities may gain additional resources for responding to sexual addiction and betrayal.
And as these individuals collaborate, we can begin building a stronger network of support for Catholic families.
One group. One community. One family at a time.
